Notably, he was a member of the acclaimed group Lush, where his work on albums like "Spooky" (1992) and "Split" (1994) helped define the shoegaze and dream pop genres. King’s melodic basslines and atmospheric guitar playing significantly contributed to Lush's signature sound. In addition to his work with Lush, King has collaborated with various artists, including The Jesus and Mary Chain, where his contributions to albums like "Stoned & Dethroned" (1994) are notable. He also played with the band Felt and later joined the group Snowpony, further showcasing his versatility.
